HOW TO GET RID OF VERTIGO, DIZZINESS AND RINGING IN YOUR EARS
Everyone felt vertigo at least once in their lifetime. However, there are situations when this state arises regularly. And this should be an unequivocal reason to call a doctor, because such a phenomenon can be a symptom of a variety of diseases. The tactics of treating vertigo directly depend on the pathology it accompanies.
Vertigo is not a disease. It is a condition that can be caused by more than 300 causes. The most common are posterior vertigo, inflammation of the vestibular nerve, Manior’s disease, hearing nerve tumor, brain blood flow disorders, changes in the neck tissue, injuries, excessive muscle tension, old age, stress and more.
People with vertigo often describe it as a disturbance in the balance in two ways, such as movement around the head or as a loss of orientation in space. Positional vertigo is the most common of all, and is caused by inadequate movement or head position, lying, moving in bed, or moving the head back. It lasts a minute or less, or it can be accompanied by rhythmic flickering of the eyes, while hearing remains preserved. It can be repeated every few days, and even after a few months.
Inflammation of the vestibular nerve, an attack of severe vertigo lasts for several days, and then gradually relaxes within weeks. Although the cause of the disorder and the site of damage have not been proven, most doctors consider it to be an inflammation of the nerve of the vestibular labyrinth of the inner ear.
Manior’s disease – it is a disorder in the microcirculation in the inner ear. The disease is characterized by sudden attacks of dizziness, which may last from several minutes to several hours. The attack can be so strong, that the patient needs to lie down. This type of vertigo is usually short-lived. It is accompanied by nausea, vomiting, noises, loss of balance. Sometimes people see double.
Tumor of the hearing nerve – is characterized by a constant vertigo that can be measured. Other signs suggesting a tumor include: hearing impairment and disorders of the rest of the nerves in the brain.
Home Remedies for Vertigo
While vertigo comes and goes on its own, a couple of physical exercises and home remedies can be done if your symptoms don’t disappear. We offer a couple of methods that you should try to eliminate vertigo using exercises and home remedies.
1. Physical exercises
Physical exercises are the first thing you should try to get quick relief from vertigo. The inner ear canals have small calcium “stones” that move and keep your balance. • Epley maneuver
Start by sitting on a bed. Turn your head 45 degrees to the affected ear (left or right). Quickly lie back, maintaining the head turned. Now, your shoulders should be on the pillow, with your head reclined. Wait for 30 seconds. Turn your head 90 degrees to the side of your affected ear, without raising it.
Now your head should be looking 45 degrees to the affected side. Wait another 30 seconds. Turn both your head and body 90 degrees to the side of the affected ear, into the bed. Stay like this for another 30 seconds. Finally, sit up on the side of the affected ear.
• Half somersault
While you kneel, quickly tip your head upward and then back. Assume somersault position with your chin tucked as far as you can and toward the knee. Turn your head about 45 degrees toward the right shoulder (if your right ear is affected, in case you have issue with the left ear turn the head towards the left shoulder), to face the right elbow (or left in case the left ear is affected). Maintaining your head at 45 degrees, raised it to back/shoulder level. Maintaining your head at 45 degrees, raise it to a fully upright position.
• Brandt-Daroff maneuver
Begin with an upright and seated position. Move into a lying position on your bed on one side with the nose pointed up at an angle of about 45 degrees. Stay in this position for about half a minute (or until your vertigo subsides). Move back to seated position. Do the same on the other side.
2. Vitamin D
If you are suffering from vertigo and dizziness, you might want to check your vitamin D levels. If vertigo is really a result of vitamin D deficiency, once your get normal levels of this vitamin, the vertigo should subside. This process may take up to couple of months, depending on your vitamin D levels. Taking vitamin D supplements is a good way to maintain normal vitamin D levels if you are deficient.

Also, you can consume foods rich in magnesium, like avocados and dark leafy greens, bananas, dried apricots, almonds, cashews, walnuts, beans, dried peas, soy products and whole grains such as millet and brown rice.

• Pericardium point (P6)

Once you locate this pressure point on your wrist, gently apply pressure on it for a few moments. Then stimulate the same point on your other hand. • Governing vessel point (GV26)

It’s underneath the skull bone, in the gap on both sides of the neck. GB 21 point is located on the backside of the shoulders, midway between the shoulder and the base of the neck.
Once you locate these points, apply firm pressure on both sides simultaneously with your thumbs for a couple of minutes. Applying pressure on these points regularly will help you relieve irritability, mental stress, nervousness, sleeping disorders, migraine, vertigo and dizziness.
6. Hydrogen peroxide
One of the most efficient home remedies for vertigo is hydrogen peroxide, which gets rid of organisms by oxidation. Hydrogen peroxide is usually used to treat ear infections and eliminating wax from the inner ear. It’s considered that peroxide in the ear treats vertigo by loosening and re-positioning the stones lodged in the inner ear canal.
Apply hydrogen peroxide on a clean cotton ball until it is soaked and lay down on your side. Next, squeeze out the hydrogen peroxide from the soaked cotton ball directly into the ear canal. Stay on your side for at least five minutes before sitting up. Switch sides and repeat the procedure. 7. Keep yourself hydrated
Not being hydrated can cause dizziness which is a prominent symptom of vertigo. It is absolutely essential to stay hydrated in order to prevent vertigo, and drink water as soon as possible once you feel dizziness.
If you are already feel dizziness, don’t gulp down a lot water at once but rather take small sips of water. Continue to drink water in short intervals until you feel hydrated. Always drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.
• Sometimes you may feel dizzy as a result of insufficient oxygen due to improper breathing. Do some deep breathing exercises to eliminate the dizziness and vertigo.
